Select a monitor with VGA to connect to the MacBook. It is recommended that you use a monitor of the same brand as your laptop. Connect the monitor to the MacBook with a mini DVI (Digital Visual Interface) or mini DVI-VGA (Video Graphic Array) adapter. Press F7 or Function + F7 on the MacBook. This turns the mirror mode. Adjust the screen resolution via System Preferences or the state in the menu bar. Convert MacBook standby to get the full screen resolution attached to keep the lid open the laptop to access the keyboard and touchpad. To start the computer with external monitor, open the laptop, turn on the machine and close the laptop at a time.
